Revitalisation OF Bangsawan in Singapore Today

The Singapore Bangsawan Festival presents a thought-provoking Keynote Conference featuring two distinguished speakers - Dr. Chua Soo Pong and Mr. Samsudin Said - who will delve into the revival and future of Bangsawan in Singapore.


Dr. Chua, a respected cultural researcher and theatre director, will examine how Bangsawan can be revitalised for contemporary audiences while preserving its rich heritage. Mr. Samsudin, a prolific Bangsawan playwright, will share his experiences in adapting Bangsawan narratives and performance styles to remain relevant in today’s arts scene.
